Relationship commitments aside, folks, I can't even commit myself to finishing a painting in one sitting!
-
-
-
Forget one sitting... even a deadline of a week is hard to keep to with the paintings I do for leisure. Those that are in my gallery right now are mostly the kind I do for my own pleasure and are not commissioned work.

-
And those? My god, I just can't bring myself to rush it through...
-
-
-
Not sketches though.. those I can sit and work on them without knowing the hours just flying by..

Weird, no?

Let me know what you think. Does it look professional?
Love the colors and style of the background and the grungy effects. Layout is great, simple and very much organised. The fact that you've decided to keep it all on one page is a great.
From the start, what bothers me though, max, is the drop-shadow effects you did for the buttons. It feels a little... amateurish? I would tone down the drop shadow's blur a little more for your name as well since it starts to make it difficult to see on screen. But maybe it's just a personal opinion,
Your portfolio is lovely and has a nice mixture of works. I really would be surprised if your didn't get a job after your client see this website,

I might just flatten the menu bar as well. I think the shadow behind the section titles is enough.
"amateurish" - that's what I am always afraid of. I will work on something for so long that I can't tell anymore after a while. I need to distance myself.
Amateurish is really just a word to describe what a person would regard as over-done. At least that's how I used it to describe your choice of effect. Drop shadow has to be very carefully used and controlled. It's one effect that can, very quickly, be amateurish.

Good work needs to be recognized. Thanks for the welcome.
